Barry Scott quits Rangers board as another behind-the-scenes exit goes through
Rangers have confirmed Barry Scott’s resignation from the board.
Scott joined the Gers’ board in 2017 while Dave King was in charge but he’s now moved on to pursue ventures elsewhere.
He’s not the only one to leave the top table at Ibrox this month with The Scottish Express reporting on 8 October that David Graham has quit his role as director of communications.

RIFC plc have released a statement confirming Scott’s exit. As quoted by Glasgow Evening Times journalist Chris Jack, it says: “Barry Scott has resigned as a director of the Company to pursue his other business commitments.
“The Directors wish him well in those endeavours.”
Bye bye
It remains to be seen why Scott is actually leaving Rangers as the statement released by RIFC plc doesn’t exactly say much.
However, it seems as though he’s left off his own back and if that’s the case, we wish him all the best in the future.
Scott is a lifelong Rangers fan and when he was reappointed onto the board on 2018, he was based in Hong Kong.
He was also part of a group that provided £6.5million in loans to the club back in 2016 [Daily Record].

Scott’s behind-the-scenes role has been a quiet once since his return to Ibrox in 2018 but it’s fair to say that he’s done some good for the club.
It’s surely just a coincedence that both he and Graham have both stepped down from the board this month because it’s unlikely that there’s a big change happening right now, even though there has been some speculation regarding interest from the US.
In other Rangers news, Fabrizio Romano has shared what he’s been told about this player potentially quitting Ibrox in January for a big Premier League move.
