Ally McCoist has his say on whether Rangers should start Antonio Colak or Alfredo Morelos against Liverpool
Rangers legend Ally McCoist has had his say on whether Antonio Colak or Alfredo Morelos should start in the UEFA Champions League tie against Liverpool on Wednesday.
In what promises to be a scintillating tie at Ibrox, it’s one that could easily go wrong for Rangers, they’ve lost every game in the competition this year so far.
McCoist confessed that Giovanni Van Bronckhorst has a “tough decision” on his hands over whether to start Colak or Morelos for the game.

“Is it Morelos or Colak? It’s a really tough decision,” said McCoist as quoted by Football Scotland.
“They bring different things to the party. The front three were non-existent at Anfield against a team who were pressing high and they never got much of the ball.
“In the home games I think Morelos will give you more in terms of free-kicks and up the park.
“However, Colak is firing and if you get it into the box he will score. He scored a brilliant header at Tynecastle and if you put it into the box he will get on the end of things.
“If you are asking me who I would start, at this time it is a flip of the guy, I couldn’t split them.”

Possible.
It’s possible that Van Bronckhorst could opt to start both Colak and Morelos up top for Gers and go hell for leather against Liverpool on Wednesday evening.
Why not? Morelos has shown in the UEFA Champions League this campaign that he isn’t up to doing the job alone for Rangers and Colak’s form is impossible to ignore.
If that’s out of the window for Van Bronckhorst then you’d have to favour Colak in this one, especially considering Liverpool’s misfiring defence.
There’s an opportunity for Gers to get some points on the board on Wednesday evening and Ibrox needs to be bouncing to shock slow-starters Liverpool.
Whoever gets the nod up top needs to put in a solid showing, Morelos went missing far too many times at Anfield and it gave Rangers zero options for goals on the evening.
A loss would ultimately be the end of Champions League dreams for this season on Wednesday night, hopefully, they can do something special.
In other Rangers news, Ross Wilson may have played a blinder for Rangers after a shocking development in October that will leave many Gers fans surprised.
