Keith Jackson delivers Fashion Sakala view ahead of Rangers v Liverpool

Rangers will take on Liverpool in the Championship clash on Wednesday (10 October) and Giovanni van Bronckhorst needs to make some big decisions.

One of the major decisions he has to make is whether to start with Fashion Sakala after the 25-year-old produced a stellar performance against St Mirren.

Keith Jackson, the columnist for The Daily Record, suggests that despite his strong performance, he is unlikely to dislodge Ryan Kent from the starting line-up.

“No. But he may have done enough to play his way into the starting line up all the same. With Kent on the left and Sakala on the right, Rangers might at least give Liverpool’s defence something to think about,” wrote Jackson for The Daily Record.

Big call

It is a tough call from the Dutchman. Sakala was introduced in the starting line-up against St Mirren after he impressed in the cameo role against Liverpool at Anfield.

Sakala, who was linked with an exit during the summer, grabbed those opportunities with both hands and produced a scintillating performance over the weekend.

He scored the final goal in the 4-0 win over St Mirren, and also grabbed an assist for the side. Van Bronckhorst gave glowing feedback after the performance, adding that he never wanted the player to leave.

Now comes the big decision this midweek, and possibly the Dutchman will start with Ryan Kent, despite the fact the former Liverpool winger hasn’t been at his best this season.

Kent would love to prove a point against his former club. However, Sakala’s raw pace can cause problems for the Liverpool defence.

The Reds are heading into this game on the back of a 3-2 defeat against Arsenal, and they aren’t in the best of form. Rangers have a strong chance here to unsettle them.

In other Rangers news, the club now had a record-breaking striker on trial at Ibrox and he’s gone on to make headlines in the United Kingdom.
