Journalist shares if Rangers will allow Ridvan Yilmaz to leave on loan in January

Rangers will not reportedly allow summer signing Ridvan Yilmaz to leave on loan in January amid interest from Turkish side Galatasaray.

Takvim reported recently that they were keen on bringing the 21-year-old back on a temporary basis as he’s struggling to get game time at the club.

However, Rangers Review journalist Joshua Barrie does not see it happening and claims the club will not allow him to go after spending so much money for him.

He said at 12:24 “I don’t see it. Rangers spent a lot of money to bring him in.

“Giovanni van Bronckhorst said that it’s taken him time to adjust and adapt so I don’t think they’ll want to send him back.”

Makes no sense

Yilmaz was signed as the second left-back at the club and he knew that he would have to compete with Borna Barisic for a starting berth.

He is a different kind of left-back as compared to Barisic and it’s good for Giovanni van Bronckhorst to have variety in that department.

As expected, the Turkey international has taken some time to adapt and he’s very good as a backup option to bring on off the bench.

There are even suggestions of him being played further up the pitch and while that’s an interesting prospect, we do not see it happening.

It does not make sense to loan him out as he’s seen as a first-team player at Rangers and the more time he spends in Scotland, the better he’ll adapt to the game.

He does have the potential to become one of the league’s best full-backs and has got to work on his trade and he’ll eventually get there.
