Van Bronckhorst makes Fashion Sakala transfer admission after Rangers win v St Mirren
Giovanni van Bronckhorst admitted that he never wanted Fashion Sakala to leave Rangers.
Sakala, who impressed in the cameo role against Liverpool, started on Saturday’s SPFL clash against St Mirren.
The 25-year-old was simply outstanding throughout the game and deservedly got a goal to his name as the Bears won 4-0 at Ibrox.

“I’m really happy because the more options the better for me,” said Van Bronckhorst, as quoted by The Scottish Sun.
“He came on in midweek at Anfield and did well and we wanted to give him a chance. I thought he was really good and did what we expected.
“We are now able to use the speed we have up front. It makes it so much easier when we have strength in depth in attack. I never wanted Fashion to leave and it was never my intention to let him go.”

Sakala’s future came into doubt during the summer transfer window.
La Liga clubs Celta Vigo and Real Sociedad had asked about the attacker in July, but Football Scotland reported (21 July) that he didn’t want to leave.
Blessed with raw pace and energy, Sakala has the ability to tear apart any defence, but there are some aspects of his game that needs improving.
Last season, he scored 12 goals and provided seven assists in all competitions from 50 appearances, though he only started in 15 games.

It seems the Dutchman has really enjoyed his performance. He not only scored a goal, but also provided an assist to round off a brilliant performance.
He provided five crosses during the game, and put in defensive shifts (1 tackle and 1 clearance) as per Whoscored.
Antonio Colak and Alfredo Morelos are likely to be the main two players upfront but Sakala could be a useful weapon for the Dutchman. Kemar Roofe is also set to return shortly.
In other Rangers news, the club now had a record-breaking striker on trial at Ibrox and he’s gone on to make headlines in the United Kingdom.
