Rangers sensation Jack Wylie wanted by multiple Premier League clubs as Fabrizio Romano shares what he’s told

It’s too early say to whether Jack Wylie will be leaving Rangers amid speculation linking him with a move to the Premier League, according to Fabrizio Romano.

Writing via the his CaughtOffside Substack site, the Guardian journalist reported on 9 October that there are as many as five Premier League clubs who are “following” the 15-year-old full-back.

Romano says Arsenal and Leeds are two of the clubs who have been linked with the Ibrox sensation.

The Italian transfer guru said: “I’m not too surprised to see big names like Arsenal and Leeds being linked with 15-year-old wonderkid Jack Wylie as he’s a top talent, but what’s the truth about his situation?

“There are four or five Premier League clubs that are following him, but it’s still too early to mention negotiations or advanced talks with Rangers. At the moment, I’m told is too early and Jack is focused on Rangers.”

Frustrating

It’s hard for Rangers – and Celtic – to keep hold of their top young players when Premier League sides come knocking.

While some youngsters at the Old Firm have stayed put and made names for themselves in the Scottish Premiership, a lot have made the move south before even playing a senior game up here.

Wylie is obviously not a player who’s made that leap yet at Ibrox as he’s only 15.

But he may see a move to the Premier League as an ideal one as he could earn more money and get more opportunities at higher level quality clubs.

Let’s face it, being loaned out to a Scottish Championship or League One club is like the equivalent of playing in the English non-league.

There are more opportunities down south, better coaches, better facilities and, as mentioned, more money so can see why it would appeal.

Let’s hope he just wants to play for Rangers so a decision on his future could be a few years away.
