Rangers confirm starting XI for Scottish Premiership clash v St. Mirren

Rangers have confirmed their starting XI for the match against St. Mirren on Saturday, 08 October at Ibrox Stadium.

The Gers are going through a good patch on the domestic front where they have won back-to-back matches against Dundee United and Hearts.

As announced on Twitter, Giovanni van Bronckhorst has named a lineup featuring just one striker in Antonio Colak whereas Alfredo Morelos and Ryan Kent start on the bench.

Important

Rangers started the campaign hoping to improve what they did in the previous season where they finished second on the league table, six behind eventual champions Celtic.

As things stand, Rangers are much closer than what they were last season to their fiercest rivals as they are still second on the table but just two points behind.

Therefore, Van Bronckhorst will be looking to ensure that his players are focused enough to secure another three points to ensure that they remain within touching distance of the league leaders.

In head-to-head meetings, Rangers have been thoroughly dominating against St. Mirren where out of 32 meetings, they won on 28 occasions and suffered just a couple of defeats whereas two matches ended in a stalemate [Transfermarkt].

That’s not it as the Gers have never suffered a defeat while playing at home against their Saturday opponent in any competition.

That record will definitely give the fans something to be optimistic about and they will be hoping to see the player continue the winning momentum.

In other Rangers news, one player could be hoping for only his second start of the season against Hearts this weekend
