Tam McManus shares instant reaction after Rangers Champions League loss v Liverpool

Tam McManus slams Rangers for them failing to take the game to Liverpool in their Champions League clash on Tuesday night.

Gers ended up losing the game 2-0 with Trent Alexander-Arnold and Mo Salah finding the back of the net.

However, they still have not got a point in the Champions League this season and look extremely likely to be knocked out come November.

Via Twitter, McManus wrote, “Wasn’t that impressed by Liverpool tbh but Rangers were dreadful. Never laid a glove on them.”

Spot on

Rangers did nothing to suggest that they even believed that they had a chance of getting something from this game.

They set up defensively, let Liverpool control proceedings from start to end and deservedly paid the price with a defeat.

Had it not been for Allan McGregor, the scoreline would’ve been far worse and Giovanni van Bronckhorst knows that this approach is not going to work.

The chances of qualifying now are close to none and could very well end when Liverpool visit Ibrox next week.

A loss in that game all but seals their fate and now even Europa League looks unlikely as they have to finish in third for that.

Napoli and Liverpool both have six points and Gers will have to beat Ajax by a four-goal scoreline and hope other results go their way if they are to qualify for the second tier tournament.

In other Rangers news, the club now had a record-breaking striker on trial at Ibrox and he’s gone on to make headlines in the United Kingdom.
