Rangers confirmed XI v Liverpool: Antonio Colak dropped
Giovanni van Bronckhorst has named his Rangers XI to take on Liverpool in the Champions League later today at Anfield.
After two straight defeats in Europe, Gers will be looking to pick up their first points of the campaign as they make the trip south to Merseyside.
Despite his goal-scoring form of eight strikes in eight games, Antonio Colak has been benched for Alfredo Morelos.
Via Twitter, Rangers’ official handle shared the playing eleven.
Throw the kitchen sink?
Rangers cannot afford to sit back and defend for 90 minutes here as their defence will eventually be breached and they will come back empty handed.
Clubs that have pressed Liverpool high up and been combative with them in midfield have ended up getting the better of them this season.
They do not look like the well-oiled machine that they were last season and Gers have to capitalise on it as it’s the best chance they’re ever going to have against Liverpool for a while.
This is a side among the frontrunners to win the Champions League and right now, they’re playing like a team that will even struggle in the Europa League.
Nobody will blame the manager if Rangers suffer a heavy defeat and may in fact even give them credit for giving it a shot.
We cannot wait for the action to unfold and we’re hoping for a memorable Champions League night as there haven’t been any in the recent past for Gers.
In other Rangers news, the club now had a record-breaking striker on trial at Ibrox and he’s gone on to make headlines in the United Kingdom.
