Jeff Stelling predicts Rangers clash v Liverpool in Champions League
Jeff Stelling is backing Liverpool to take all three points from their UEFA Champions League showdown with Rangers tonight.
The Gers travel to Anfield after getting thumped in their opening group games against Ajax and Napoli, needing a result to keep their hopes of European football alive for the rest of the season.
Writing on the Super 6 website, Stelling gave his prediction for the game and back the home team to come away with a 2-0 win on the night but admitted he was expecting an “electric atmosphere” in such an important game.

“Liverpool will earn an important three points in the context of their Champions League group on Tuesday, in what will be an electric atmosphere at Anfield as they welcome Rangers,” he said.
Liverpool have three points from their first two games of the competition after a late win over Ajax followed a beating against Napoli, and are coming off a 3-3 draw with Brighton at the weekend.
Crazy
I can’t remember a time where Rangers were such unanimous underdogs in everyone’s minds but it may work out better for us that way.
With no expectation to get a result against a team that are largely out of sorts right now, it should allow the fans to be excited in the stands and the players to have a freedom on the pitch.

We have the weapons to hurt them in attack with the pace of Ryan Kent and the goalscoring abilities of Antonio Colak and Alfredo Morelos, while defensively we have shown an ability to be solid and tight on the biggest stages.
It wasn’t even a year ago that we went to Germany and battered Dortmund in their own back yard, so there is no reason we can’t go to another big club’s playground and come back with a win.
We’re Rangers Football Club and we’re one of the best teams around, now it’s time to show it and prove Jeff Stelling and the rest of them wrong.
