Rangers predicted XI v Liverpool: Scott Arfield, Borna Barisic to be dropped
Rangers will be looking to get their first points of the Champions League campaign when they take on Premier League giants Liverpool.
After losing to Ajax and Napoli, Gers will certainly not want to make it three losses in a row as that will all but end their chances of qualification.
They might even take third place at the moment and drop down to the Europa League, but that looks slim given the quality of their opponents on Tuesday.
For this game, Giovanni van Bronckhorst will have to make some big decisions to nullify the threat Liverpool will pose.
Allan McGregor has done his bit to now be the club’s number one ahead of Jon McLaughlin so we’re expecting him to start.
In defence, we do see a couple of changes being made by the Dutchman.
Ben Davies played in the game against Hearts on Saturday and we would’ve expected him to make way for James Sands for this one, but the American is not available.
Borna Barisic played the entire 90 minutes and there’s a good chance that Ridvan Yilmaz comes in for the Croatian.
Ryan Jack and John Lundstram have been dependable in the middle of the park and are not likely to be dropped.
The change could come further up the field and we do see Malik Tillman coming on for Scott Arfield as he would give Rangers more on the break.
They’re expected to sit back against Jurgen Klopp’s side and the Bayern Munich player would give them something of an edge.
