Ally McCoist raves about Rangers winger Ryan Kent v Hearts

Ally McCoist has raved about Ryan Kent after he scored the final goal for Rangers in the 4-0 win over Hearts on Saturday (1 October) in the Scottish Premiership at Tynecastle.

The Bears have now secured back-to-back wins in the league, with a dominating performance away from home.

Antonio Colak scored twice, while Alfredo Morelos scored the other goal as the Bears picked up all three points.

“He’s probably the only player on the pitch who can score that type of goal,” said McCoist on Sky Sports (as relayed by Sky Sports website; 14:20 pm)

Much needed

Kent came to closing during the game in the second half, but he just couldn’t find the net.

He is a key player for the club, but his output, in terms of goals and assists, has been questioned by many pundits.

To a certain extent, it is frustrating as well, as Kent, despite all his trickery and skills, seldom proves to be a matchwinner for the club.

Giovanni van Bronckhorst will be very pleased to see that Kent has returned to some kind of form ahead of the crucial Champions League clash against Liverpool.

Kent is a fantastic player who is capable of conjuring up moments of brilliance, like the one he did today, but he struggles to do that on a consistent basis.

That is one aspect of his game that he can improve on. Kent has a contract at the club until the end of the season, and so far there has been indication whether he would sign a new deal.

In other Rangers news, one player could be hoping for only his second start of the season against Hearts this weekend
