Journalist disgusted after Rangers midfielder Glen Kamara targeted by racist abuse again

Rangers ace Glen Kamara was targeted with racist abuse once again while on international duty with Finland and Mark McDougall has called on UEFA to “sort it out”.

UEFA have already announced that they are investigating the accusation, after Finland made an official complaint after their clash with Montenegro on Monday night.

It is the third time since 2020 that he has suffered abuse from fans or opponents and McDougall, who previously wrote for the Daily Record, has called on the football governing body to do something about it on his personal Twitter account.

“How many times is Glen Kamara going to be targeted before something is done?” he said.

“The third time since 2020 he’s been abused by players or fans in UEFA competition. Sort it out.”

Disgusting

Racism is wrong no matter if it’s one, twice or three times, but for UEFA to continue to do absolutely nothing about it is reprehensible.

Too many times we’ve seen tiny fines handed out and the event swept under the carpet to be forgotten about by those above, as if it doesn’t happen regularly and need fixing.

UEFA need to make an example out of anyone caught being racist, and that means hefty bans and huge fines for all involved to ensure it doesn’t rear it’s ugly head in the future.

As for Kamara, all we can do is praise him and support him in his time of need and hope that the people at the top of the game have something in mind to stop this nonsense from taking place.

Nobody deserves to suffer abuse and hopefully if enough people keep speaking out and challenging UEFA and the like on their actions, then finally something will happen to actually put a stop to it.
