Four Rangers players look set to leave Ibrox in the summer

Filip Helander and Scott Arfield are almost certain to leave Rangers when their current deals expire in the summer of 2023 according to The Daily Record.

The Record has also suggested (21 September), unsurprisingly, that Allan McGregor and Steven Davis will likely depart the club in what could be another summer of change for Ross Wilson.

Decisions still need to be made on the likes of Ryan Jack, James Sands and Adam Devine who all see their current arrangments end next summer.

Another overhaul

The summer of 2023 promises to be one of more change for Rangers and potentially one that is more radical and important that the summer that has just passed.

With eleven players out of contract or seeing their loan arrangements come to a close at the end of the season, there is an opportunity for there to be a huge refresh of Giovanni van Bronckhorst’s current squad.

Rangers will be competitive this season, but it does feel as if the shelf life of this current crop of Gers is waning slightly. With potentially eleven players leaving the club next summer there’s a real chance for a fresh start to occur heading into the new season.

This could come at a good time for the board at Ibrox with plenty of questions beginning to be raised over their running over the club and recruitment strategy during Steven Gerrard and van Bronckhorst’s reigns.

Significant investment next summer and really backing the Rangers boss will see plenty of the concerns surrounding the running of the club dissipate.

In other Rangers news, Barry Ferguson is raging at this “spectacular failure” at Ibrox.
