BT Sport man shell-shocked after Allan McGregor footage emerges from Rangers v Napoli

James Fielden has waxed lyrical over Allan McGregor despite Rangers losing 3-0 against Napoli in the Champions League on Wednesday night.

During the game on the UEFA world feed, a small montage of the veteran goalkeeper’s saves was played before Gers conceded three goals.

He saved two penalties and had a couple of others from open play as well, but with his team down to ten men, there was not too much he could’ve done.

Speaking on commentary, Field, a BT Sport employee said, “What a save by McGregor. Unbelievable save by the veteran goalkeeper. Lost his position in the team but some of these saves tonight have been top class. I’m stunned by this display.”

Number one again?

Jon McLaughlin has been given the nod this season, but McGregor proved that when the stakes are high, he’s the one who delivers.

He looks unnerved between the sticks despite a barrage of attacks from the opposition attackers and proved why he should now be starting in the league as well.

Apart from his performances, there weren’t a lot of positives that Rangers could take from the game and qualification now looks nigh on impossible.

If they cannot beat teams at home, then it’s difficult to expect them to get any results away from Ibrox.

They are yet to play the best team of the group in Liverpool, and despite their current form, nobody would fancy Rangers to get anything from those two games.

We knew it was going to be a tough affair once the groups were announced, but nobody expected Gers to put in such kind of performances time and again.

In other Rangers news, the club now had a record-breaking striker on trial at Ibrox and he’s gone on to make headlines in the United Kingdom.
