Ajax troll Rangers captain James Tavernier on social media after Daley Blind trick
James Tavernier has been made the victim of some trolling from the Ajax social media admin after Rangers were beaten 4-0 in Amsterdam last week.
For the second match in succession Giovanni van Bronckhorst’s side were blown away by the same scoreline, after coming up well short in the Glasgow derby with Celtic last weekend (3 September), as they were overwhelmed on their return to the Champions League (7 September).
Postponements in the wake of the Queen’s death mean that the first time the Gers are back in action will be this week for the delayed visit of Napoli, with away fans controversially kept away, on Wednesday (14 September).
Over in the Netherlands they are still having fun at the Light Blues expense online with the Ibrox captain the man in the firing line, even if it isn’t the strongest burn ever.
On the official Ajax Twitter account a clip was posted of Blind rolling the ball back for a Light Blues free kick before catching it with his toe, to trick the Gers defender about to pick it up, to the sound track of Capone’s “Oh No”.
Sticking to the theme, the accompanying message simply says: “Oh no Daley Blind.”
Treatment
Ajax were by far the better side at the Johan Cruyff Arena and as such this might be one of those occasions where you just have to take your medicine.
It won’t be an easy task with the other team in the group who comprehensively won on the day, Napoli defeating Liverpool 4-1, the next in line but this side needs to make some major improvements immediately.
Even if they come away from the game against the Serie A outfit without any points the performance has to be far better as a bare minimum.

It has been concerning not only how far off the pace the Rangers players have looked in the past two outings, but how unfocused and slugging they have seemed mentally.
If that sort of thing is allowed to continue and another heavy loss in succession is piled on top of the previous two then there could be some serious threat to jobs at Ibrox.
With no away fans and a stadium full of supporters desperate to see an uplift from their side there is unlikely to be a better set of circumstances to rescue the miserable run against such strong opposition.
If the game goes by without an outcome that sees the opposition pulling out party tricks and laughing about it as they demonstrate their superiority would be a start, but a proper performance and an actual result would be hugely welcome as well.
In other Rangers news, comments about visiting Ibrox from one of the key danger men in the upcoming game have been dismissed as fabricated in a bizarre controversy.
