Kenny Miller: Rangers change needed to avoid embarrassing Champions League campaign
Kenny Miller has suggested that something is missing at Rangers and if it isn’t rectified, Giovanni van Bronckhorst’s team could face an embarrassing Champions League campaign.
Rangers are coming off two damaging defeats to Ajax and Celtic and will have to wait longer to get back on track after their game against Aberdeen was postponed.
Miller feels that the board must remain calm and look to resolve their current issues or see the pressure on van Bronckhorst grow even more.

Talking to the Daily Record [11 September], Miller said: “There’s something missing and that needs to be rectified quickly, otherwise Rangers could go through a potentially embarrassing Champions League campaign and the title might get away from them as well.
“There has to be a bit of calm at boardroom level. It’s been a really tough week and there has to be a big improvement. If things don’t change it will lead to mounting pressure on Gio.”
Hard to change anything now
With the transfer window now shut, it’s very hard for the board at Ibrox to actively influence what is happening at the pitch at the moment. However, what they can do is show the Rangers boss patience considering the job that he has done at the club so far.
The Europa League run has earnt him time to have the odd poor run of form and it’s also important to remember that Rangers were superb only a couple of weeks ago when they went to PSV Eindhoven and won 1-0.
This team hasn’t become poor overnight, with the majority of the squad being involved in the Gers European final run in the 2021/22 season.

Van Bronckhorst is facing his toughest spell as Rangers manager and now it is time for the Dutchman to really show that he is cut out for the Ibrox hot seat.
The extended break could’ve come at a good time for the Gers, with there now being more time for the players, manager and board to assess what has gone wrong over the past week.
Despite the two shambolic results and performances, van Bronckhorst does deserve the same faith and time that Steven Gerrard was given.
In other Rangers news, two points is the best the club can hope for in the Champions League this season according to a talkSPORT pundit.
