Rangers chairman Douglas Park under fire from predecessor Dave King
Rangers are all set to begin their Champions League group stage campaign away at Ajax on Wednesday but Dave King thinks more could have been done.
The former Ibrox chairman has rarely held back on what he says and especially when it comes to the Light Blues and the man who took his position at the club, Douglas Park.
He took over at the helm in Glasgow in 2020 initially as an interim after King opted to leave the club but the move later became a permanent fixture.

But this summer has not seen the vast investment that King expected to see from Rangers with the Champions League on the horizon and he has aimed the blame at his successor.
“I am extremely surprised that Douglas hasn’t made that available to Ross [Wilson, their sporting director],” he said, as quoted by The Times.
Time will tell
There might be plenty of Champions League TV money set to come in for Rangers but that doesn’t mean that it is all immediately available to spend on the playing squad.
There are countless expenditures that Park has to consider and Giovanni van Bronckhorst may not have wanted a huge amount to spend when his squad was already one that has proven its ability to compete on the European stage.

King could prove to be right if the Light Blues are dumped out of the competition bottom of the group or Celtic win the premiership by a landslide but sometimes the present has to be sacrificed for the future.
There is certainly something brewing at Ibrox despite not spending huge sums of money on one or two players and choosing instead to find value in the market where possible.
Sustainability is more important now than ever and Park has the future of the club as his highest priority, as he should always have.
In other Rangers news, a Dutch journalist has suggested that van Bronckhorst would be the perfect fit for a vacant post with his nation’s team.
