Tam McManus outraged by Celtic chant during Old Firm clash v Rangers
Tam McManus has reacted furiously to disturbing footage of Celtic fans signing about dead Rangers legends during the Old Firm clash at the weekend.
Rangers were thrashed 4-0 at Parkhead as Celtic moved five points clear at the top of the Scottish Premiership table and maintained their 100% start to the season, but scenes in the crowd have marred their performance.
Shocking and disgusting footage emerged on social media on Monday night where you can hear a disgusting song about several Rangers legends, and McManus reacted angrily on his personal Twitter account labelling it “completely out of order”.

“Embarrassing and completely out of order,” he said. “Same folk liking and sharing this [expletive] be straight on here in disgust if Rangers fans were singing about the Lisbon Lions etc. [Expletive].”
Disgusting
Obviously there is a rivalry between the two clubs that goes beyond football, that is well known, but there is still simply no place for songs of this nature in football.
Light hearted banter between clubs is always welcomed in the stands, especially if it’s about things that have happened on the pitch, but mocking the dead is just low.
It’s the same with other songs across Europe where people mock race, religion, sexuality and other things that have absolutely nothing to do with football, and it’s sickening and an awful image for Scottish football when their two top clubs are engaged in this type of nonsense.
It’s disgusting, wrong and should be punished by the authorities to ensure it doesn’t keep happening or happen ever again from any club in the country.
There should be big punishments handed out and the clubs should be making public apologies and issuing bans and punishments for anyone caught being involved.
