Newcastle United are interested in signing Rangers starlet Cole McKinnon in the January transfer window, according to The Scottish Sun.
The 19-year-old is highly-rated in the football community and is currently spending a season-long loan spell with Partick Thistle, where he has been scouted.
As per the report, the Magpies are impressed with the talent of McKinnon and are weighing up a move in the next transfer window already.

One of the reasons why the Gers managed to become what they are today is their transfer activities where the focus primarily remained on investing in such players who can be developed into future superstars and in the worst-case scenario, they will leave the club for big money.
McKinnon clearly has the kind of ceiling that makes him an ideal player to have for the Rangers as he cannot only contribute to the team’s cause for a good part of the next decade or so but he can also become a player who will be targeted by some of the big boys in Europe.
Therefore, it is important that Giovanni van Bronckhorst must ensure that the Scotland U19 international will not leave the club as soon as January 2023, especially when the club have already rewarded him with a deal till the summer of 2025 before leaving for a loan spell.
