Rangers confirmed starting XI for Old Firm showdown v Celtic

Rangers have confirmed their starting XI for the first Old Firm of the Scottish Premiership season against Celtic on Saturday (03 September).

Giovanni van Bronckhorst was hit with the blow of losing Tom Lawrence over the past week, with the winger out until at least the international break through injury.

Confirmed on Twitter prior to kick-off, the Bears have started the likes of Malik Tillman and Steven Davis with Alfredo Morelos welcomed onto the bench.

Huge Day.

What an occasion this promises to be.

The first Old Firm of any season is always special, but this one promises that extra bit more fire with numerous new signings on show after both tasted success last time out.

Van Bronckhorst will be looking for a big response to missing out on the Scottish Premiership last season, and it is time for his big players to step up at Parkhead.

Morelos is the one that everyone will be watching.

There is no more dangerous Bufalo than one with a point to prove, and where better to do it than at Celtic Park? That was probably the idea all along as he was left out of some other fixtures.

Imagine him coming off the bench and scoring the winner, wow, that would send the away end into absolute delirium and the roof would likely come off.

All eyes will be on this one, forget the Merseyside derby, today is all about the Old Firm.

In other Rangers news, another brand new transfer is still on the cards at Ibrox outside of the window
