Rangers still have Ross Barkley as option despite transfer window slamming shut
Ross Barkley remains an option for Rangers to complete another signing despite the transfer window slamming shut last night, according to Mark Hendry.
The Football Scotland journalist has shared that the England international could arrive at Ibrox after no move was completed late on Thursday night.
There were rumours swirling around Glen Kamara and his potential exit in the past 24 hours, but preparation will continue for the Old Firm with no harm done.

Writing on his personal Twitter account, Hendry shared what could happen at Ibrox in terms of incomings despite the window slamming shut.
“Hearing that Rangers also feel they’ve done their summer work and don’t expect anything late, in or out,” he wrote.
“That could change with Kamara rumours swirling. Ross Barkley remains an option if he doesn’t sign anywhere tonight (Thursday 01 September).”
Options.
This would be an excellent move outside of the window.
With Barkley being a free agent and struggling to find a move, a cut-price deal is clearly on the cards after he received his huge payout from Chelsea.
Rangers have Champions League football to offer and Ibrox is one of the best stadiums in Europe, who wouldn’t want that chance to fight for every piece of silverware again?
Giovanni van Bronckhorst will be looking at his squad happy after a busy summer, but he certainly wouldn’t say no to adding yet another piece of quality in the middle of the park.
Ross Wilson is always working and has plans in place for everything, so don’t be surprised to see that talks have been opened with Barkley in the coming days and weeks.
Of course, that is hypothetical, but we would love a deal to be completed for the midfield maestro to come and prove himself at Ibrox once again – get it done.
