Rangers now on UEFA watchlist for FFP compliance in Friday update
Rangers are now on a UEFA watchlist for FFP compliance in news that has come out of nowhere on Friday (02 September), according to Rob Harris.
The journalist has shared that the Bears will now be asked for additional information on their finances and will be monitored very closely from the outside.
It comes after fines have arrived for numerous clubs around Europe for breaching rules, including the likes of AC Milan, Monaco, Roma and Paris Saint-Germain.

Writing on his personal Twitter account, Harris shared the bombshell news that has come out of nowhere for everyone involved at the club, no doubt.
“Rangers the other British club on UEFA’s watchlist for FFP compliance,” he wrote.
“Meaning they’ll be asked for additional financial information and will be monitored closely.”
Bombshell.
Where on earth has this come from?
It doesn’t make much sense either given the huge amount of windfall that has been dragged in during recent years for our success on and off the pitch.
Big player sales have been used this summer, including Joe Aribo and Calvin Bassey, and this news may now explain why this may have needed to have happened.
When you add in our success in the Europa League and qualifying for the Champions League though, surely Rangers can avoid fines moving forward, at least for now.
This is certainly one to watch though over the coming months and years ahead though, with Ross Wilson and the board potentially shackled by what they can do.
It usually takes years of financial problems to lead to something big such as a fine or a ban though, and given our amazing summer of profits and windfalls, hopefully, that helps.
In other Rangers news, another brand new transfer is still on the cards at Ibrox outside of the window
