Rangers transfer activity done for the summer window – Sky Sports

Sky Sports News has claimed that Rangers are now finished making any further signings this summer with hours left of the window.

Giovanni van Bronckhorst has already had seven first-team recruits join the club this summer and they have all made their debuts for the Light Blues already just a month into the new season.

Malik Tillman, Tom Lawrence and Antonio Colak have all hit the ground running at Ibrox after their respective moves over the off-season while Ridvan Yilmaz, Ben Davies, John Souttar and Rabbi Matondo are yet to light up Glasgow.

That septet go along with the further eight additions made to Rangers’ youth sides in the shape of Zak Lovelace, Mason Munn, Keiron Willox, Cameron Bell, Cammy Cooper, Bailey Rice, Archie Stevens and Souleyman Mandey.

The Bears have also seen Calvin Bassey and Joe Aribo leave for big transfer fees along with highly-rated young striker Rory Wilson who joined Aston Villa instead of signing a scholarship at Auchenhowie.

Very strong

As long as no player opts to leave in the final few hours of the window then van Bronckhorst can be extremely pleased with the squad he has at his disposal having lost two of his best players over the off-season.

Bassey and Aribo are not easy players to replace and it has taken two in each position to adequately do so but the other problem areas, left-back, striker and winger, have all been addressed too.

Perhaps the only thing Rangers could have done with was a new goalkeeper with Jon McLaughlin and Alan McGregor alright for games against the relegation fodder of the Premiership but perhaps not up to scratch for Champions League football.

But that is not a serious problem (yet) for van Bronckhorst who has put his faith in the shot-stopping duo to be solid enough this season but he will have to make a new signing next summer when McGregor will be 41 years of age.

In other Rangers news, this Ibrox outcast could get his ticket out of Glasgow if this Premiership side choose to make a late move to sign him.
