Glen Kamara was at training as AWOL reports surface for deadline-day exit

It has been shut down that Rangers midfielder Glen Kamara was AWOL at Auchenhowie on transfer deadline day by the Scottish Sun.

The newspaper has reported in its live blog that the Finland international was present at training ahead of the Old Firm, despite £10million links with Nice.

Football Scotland had reported that Kamara was nowhere to be seen today, but it was unknown whether it was due to injury or transfer talks.

Writing in their live blog in recent hours, the Scottish Sun shared that Rangers do not want to sell Kamara regardless of the price before 11 pm.

“Now to a major update on Rangers star Glen Kamara amid interest from French club Nice,” he wrote.

“We told you last night how the Ligue 1 big spenders were hoping to do a £10million deadline day to land the Ibrox midfielder.

“SunSport has been told that contrary to reports elsewhere, Kamara did not miss training today.”

Nonsense.

This one certainly isn’t happening.

It has been quiet at Ibrox today, and that isn’t the worst thing given that most of our business was done earlier in the window with all of that Calvin Bassey money.

Rangers have since qualified for the Champions League and added to the incoming windfall, and that obviously led to more and more incoming links just being potentially made up.

Giovanni van Bronckhorst would surely never green light any exits this close to the deadline, especially with an Old Firm coming up within 48 hours.

Younger players may leave between now and 11 pm, but if someone from the first team was to move on, it would be a massive shock to everyone.

Kamara thankfully trained as usual today, and we can expect him to be in the squad this weekend, with potentially another start on the cards.

Forget an exit, especially for the £10million suggested – no chance.

In other Rangers news, the manager has taken a pasting on talkSPORT ahead of what is claimed to be a heavy upcoming defeat against Celtic.
