Glen Kamara exit situation at Rangers clarified amid conflicting reports on potential exit

Rangers want to keep hold of Glen Kamara unless they receive a serious bid of proper value, which has not happened, according to The 4th Official.

The reliable online source has rubbished “nonsense reports” that the midfielder missed training on Thursday (1 September) amid speculation on his future, and confirmed the club currently are looking to keep him.

Citing the report from the Scottish Sun that claimed Nice are ready to pay £10million to take the Finnish international away from Ibrox, T4O reports on Patreon that there has been no official bid received for Kamara.

The Gers are thought to be in the market for further arrivals if they are available, and previously were attempting to do a deal for Belgian midfielder Nicolas Raskin.

But without further movement in the final hours of the transfer window it appears that an Ibrox exit for Kamara, 28, is not on the cards.

Fans cannot entirely relax however, as T4O acknowledges that “Obviously everything can change in the blink of an eye.”

Speculation

Never say never until the window has actually shut, and with the way plenty of clubs do their business probably until at least the next morning, but there doesn’t currently look to be much to suggest the Light Blues midfielder is leaving.

If he was to go then Giovanni van Bronckhorst would surely need a replacement since weakening his squad at this late stage with so many competitions ahead would be foolish.

The club are no doubt looking at the potential to do their own late deals but the later things go in terms of Kamara the more important it would be that they have virtually everything lined up already on a replacement.

Evander is one name that has been confirmed as on their radar and could be the kind of player they would look to fill a hole should a late bid come in.

But amid suggestions that their transfer window is done it seems that late moves are unlikely, although surely cannot be written off entirely.

It’s been a very busy window at Ibrox this summer and should this be the end of the activity the business has been solid, but if a versatile defender or a deep lying midfielder came up in the dying hours they could top things off.

In other Rangers news, one senior Bears player has agreed a late, late exit and could even make his debut on Saturday.
