Chris Sutton plays up to weird Celtic fan conspiracy theory as Rangers make announcement
Chris Sutton posted a bizarre tweet in reaction to the news that Rangers drew Dundee in the quarter-final of the Scottish League Cup on Wednesday.
The Light Blues confirmed on 31 August that after beating Queen of the South this week, they’d been drawn to play against Dundee at Ibrox in the last eight of the competition.
For some reason, Sutton tweet sarcastically in response to the draw.

“There’s a shock,” the former Celtic striker said via his personal Twitter account on 31 August while quoting the Rangers official tweet.
Weird
After the Premier Sports Cup draw was made on Wednesday and the Gers were set up with a home clash against Dundee, there were murmurs from a certain set of fans that Rangers always get home draws in the cup.
We can only assume that Sutton is playing up to some weird kind of conspiracy theory from the East End of Glasgow with his tweet because otherwise, we’re at a complete loss.
Rangers have had some lucky home draws in the cups lately.
On our way to winning the Scottish Cup last season, we saw the Gers play at home against Stirling Albion… Oh.
In the 2020/21 Scottish League Cup, we didn’t do very well. Maybe we could have done with playing with the home crowd behind us as while we won away at Falkirk, we then lost on the road to St Mirren.
If you look back over the last few seasons, the Light Blues have played just as many cup games away from Ibrox as they have at home.
We’d understand the conspiracy theory a bit more if it had some stats to back it up but it’s just more baseless nonsense from Accountants FC and obsessive pundit Sutton.
He should really start charging Rangers for living in his head all the time.
In other Rangers news, Michael Stewart clashed with a fellow BBC pundit over another incident in the win over Ross County.
