Giovanni van Bronckhorst shares Tom Lawrence injury update after Rangers win v Ross County
Giovanni van Bronckhorst says Tom Lawrence is fine after going down injured late in Rangers 4-0 win over Ross County on Saturday.
The Gers turned in a dominant performance with goals fro John Lundstram, Steven Davis and a brace for Antonio Colak, but Lawrence went down late on in pain and raised question marks over his availability for the next games.
But speaking in his post-match press conference the boss revealed that he was okay and praised his performance, including his step over to leave the ball for Davis’ goal late in the second half.
With a clash against Queen of the South on Tuesday night to come in the Scottish Cup as Rangers begin their defence of the trophy, the boss admitted there will be changes to the team.
Rest
Sometimes the best thing for a small injury is just simple rest, and that’s likely to be the case for Lawrence as well as many others who may be dealing with little niggling issues.
The cup last season gave Van Bronckhorst ample opportunity to give fringe players much needed minutes throughout the season to keep them sharp when they were needed in bigger games.

The likes of Ridvan Yilmaz, Allan McGregor, Ben Davies, Steven Davis, Ryan Jack, Rabbi Matondo and potentially Alfredo Morelos could all get significant minutes in the week, with the huge clash against Celtic immediately following that game on Saturday.
It’s a great time to give the first-team regulars a rest ahead of such a big game, but also to give fringe players a chance to claim their spot in the squad going forward and impress the manager.
Thankfully Lawrence is fine though, and we can talk about his great performance rather than a potential injury.
