Sky Sports journalist moots Rangers move to sign £25m Che Adams after Champions League development
Sky Sports journalist Andrew Dickson has raised the possibility of Rangers potentially being able to afford Southampton striker Che Adams now they’ve qualified for the Champions League group stages.
Speaking to Ibrox News on 18 August, football finance expert Dan Plumley said that victory over PSV would lead to a £16.9million windfall to boost the coffers at Ibrox.
Dickson feels that Scotland forward Adams, 26, could now be a realistic signing for Rangers.
“If a new striker is the biggest priority for Rangers, I wonder if Che Adams might just be affordable thanks to incoming CL money,” said the journalist via his personal Twitter account on Thursday (25 August).
“Probably still not, but I see Everton are being linked with him.
“Cracking player and the type who would fit in very well at Ibrox.”

Get him in
With Alfredo Morelos seemingly done at Ibrox, Ross Wilson and Giovanni van Bronckhorst could be on the lookout for a new striker.
Antonio Colak is in great form and his match-winning goal against PSV on Wednesday night (24 August) will no doubt go down in Ibrox history.
However, he cannot play every game and with Fashion Sakala struggling, Kemar Roofe being a constant injury concern and Morelos being out of the pitch, we do lack a striker.
Adams has been in stunning form in the last week.
He scored twice against Leicester on Saturday (20 August) to help Southampton win 2-1 at the King Power Stadium before bagging yet another brace against Cambridge United in the Carabao Cup on Tuesday (23 August).
Would he join Rangers?
There is Premier League interest in Adams with The Athletic reporting on 10 August that Everton have made an approach for him.
Sky Sports have more recently reported on Thursday that Southampton now value Adams at £25million.
That’s extortionate and clearly out of Rangers’ reach so maybe it’s best they don’t bother pursuing the Scotland forward, as good as a signing he’d be.
In other Rangers news, Dutch newspapers reacted dramatically to the Gers’ win over PSV in the Champions League.
