Jurgen Klopp delivers verdict on Ryan Kent as Liverpool and Rangers draw each other in Champions League
Rangers winger Ryan Kent has been praised for his progress by Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp after Thursday’s Champions League draw.
The Gers, who confirmed Champions League qualification after beating PSV on 23 August, were drawn in Group A with last season’s finalists Liverpool, Italian giants Napoli and Eredivise champions Ajax.
Kent, who joined Rangers initially on a loan deal in 2018, has established himself as a fantastic player in Scotland and Klopp has praised his progress. [The Scottish Sun]

He said: “We also know a couple of their players well.
“Ryan Kent has had a great development since moving to Scotland and Ben Davies is just starting out on his journey with Rangers, so it will be good to come up against them.
Kent v Liverpool
The draw will prove to be a great opportunity for Kent to show Liverpool just how much he has improved and make them regret not giving him a chance years ago.
The 25-year-old, who had played for the club as a child, was a promising talent in the Liverpool youth academy, and many in the club had high hopes for him.
However, he was sent out on several loan spells, failing to nail down a place and was rarely given a chance in the first team.

He eventually left Liverpool only making one appearance for the first-team, and determined to prove himself away from Anfield.
Four years later, and he has done exactly that making 179 appearances for the Gers, helping the club return to glory winning the Scottish Premiership and Scottish cup in the process.
Kent will be determined to impress against his former club and show them exactly what they are missing when they meet in the Champions League group stage.
In other Rangers news, the club are interested in Standard Liege’s Nicola Raskin.
