Chris Sutton reacts to Alfredo Morelos Rangers omission with social media blast
Chris Sutton has mocked Alfredo Morelos on social media after the Rangers star was dropped amid concerns over his attitude and fitness.
The Colombia striker was left at home for the crunch clash against PSV Eindhoven in the Champions League, with Giovanni van Bronckhorst admitting that the decision had been building for a while.
After Morelos reacted to the news with a quote on his Instagram that said, “The best warrior is not the one who always triumphs but the one who fearlessly returns to battle,” and Sutton was quick to mock him on Twitter.
“The best warrior is not the one who always triumphs but the one who fearlessly returns to battle a stone heavy and lets his teammates down,” he said.
Mocking
The Morelos situation is one that has been bubbling for a little while now, but Rangers are in a great position to deal with it after signing Antonio Colak in the summer.
Morelos has looked overweight and disinterested since returning from a thigh injury picked up in March, despite him scoring his first goal of the season during his first appearance against Kilmarnock.

But he’s looked a shadow of himself since then and while Colak has gone from strength to strength, there are very few Rangers fans who want him involved in the team right now – a swift change considering his importance to the team just six months ago.
Giving Sutton and that lot another reason to take a bash at us isn’t great, but the manager has definitely taken the right approach because nobody is bigger than the club.
With less than a year remaining on his contract now there is a decision to make about whether to cash in on him or work through these problems to get him back to his best, and with only eight days remaining of the window it needs to happen now.
In other Rangers news, Morelos may have played his final game for the club
