Chris Sutton reacts instantly as Rangers win v PSV in Champions League, drops Alfredo Morelos verdict

Chris Sutton has paid tribute to Giovanni van Bronckhorst after Rangers booked their spot in the Champions League group stages with a 1-0 win over PSV in Eindhoven on Wednesday night.

The Light Blues won 3-2 on aggregate with Antonio Colak’s goal in the Netherlands proving to be the difference in what was a very entertaining match full of quality and full of chances.

Rangers won without Alfredo Morelos, who was left out of the squad at PSV due to behind-the-scenes issues.

Sutton is impressed that van Bronckhorst’s decision paid off.

“Well done to Gio van Bronckorst a huge decision to leave out of condition Morelos behind and totally vindicated. Mature performance from Rangers, they deserved that,” said Sutton via his personal Twitter account on Wednesday night (24 August).

Hahahaha

Well, that’s good for the co-efficient, isn’t it?

Sutton will have no doubt struggled to type that tweet through the tears that were surely pouring from his eyes.

Rangers are back in the Champions League group stages.

They did it the hard way – as usual – but to go to PSV and win 1-0 against such a talented, in-form side is one massive achievement.

It’s on a par with beating Borussia Dortmund and RB Leipzig in the Europa League last season, if we’re totally honest.

It was a stunning display by van Bronckhorst’s men.

Colak more than deserved his goal while Malik Tillman, James Sands and John Lundstram were incredible from start to finish.

Jon McLaughlin was superb in goals too while van Bronckhorst used his tactical expertise to out-think Ruud van Nistelrooy, who will have no doubt felt unlucky to lose Luuk de Jong at half-time due to injury.

Rangers won on their terms though and without a shred of controversy.

It was deserved a win as you can get.

Celtic, are you watching?

Sutton is.
