Rangers: Journalist makes John Lundstram claim after VAR usage in Premier League
Rangers felt aggrieved to see John Lundstarm given a red card against Hibernian for what looked like a typical yellow card challenge.
the Light Blues midfielder tripped the Hibs attacker as he broke out of their own third of the pitch but to the shock of everyone, Willie Collum produced a red card rather than a yellow.
A similar incident occurred in the Premier League on Sunday as Kieran Trippier was sent off for the same type of tackle by referee Jarrad Gillett but VAR intervened and saw the decision overturned.
Rangers Review journalist Derek Clark used the St James’ Park example as leverage to suggest that the Video Assistant Referee should be brought into Scottish football as soon as possible.
“The Trippier VAR call highlights just how much it needs implemented in Scotland now…Lundstram’s red yesterday would’ve been clearly rescinded,” he said via his personal Twitter account.
Ancient
Any top-flight league that does not use VAR is living in the olden days and Scotland have to move into the 21st century as soon as possible to avoid being left behind.
Not only to avoid such terrible decisions as everyone witnessed yesterday with Lundstram but also to keep the country’s officials up to the standard of the rest of Europe.

Rangers would likely benefit from more VAR incidents than other clubs considering how much attacking they tend to do against the majority of Premiership sides but that is the case for every side who dominates games.
Collum would have also been able to watch back his own awful mistake (which everyone makes from time to time) and had the chance to change his mind as he has surely already done upon reflection.
Those two points will never return to Ibrox though and it could prove costly for Giovanni van Bronckhorst’s side come the end of the season.
In other Rangers news, Alfredo Morelos also saw red at Easter Road but his suspension could open the door for a recently-purchased youngster to thrive.
