Michael Stewart rages at incident in Rangers v Hibernian, slams ‘stupidity’ from Rocky Bushiri
Michael Stewart has blasted Hibernian defender Rocky Bushiri for conceding a penalty against Rangers at Easter Road on Saturday afternoon.
James Tavernier opened the scoring in Edinburgh after Antonio Colak was brought down by Bushiri in the penalty area.
Willie Collum took a moment to point to the penalty spot but even though Stewart has slammed Bushiri for grabbing hold of Colak, he thinks it was a soft penalty decision.

When asked if it was a penalty on BBC Sportscene on Saturday night (20 August, 10m20s), Stewart said: “No.
“Look, there are two separate things here in regards to [the penalty].
“It’s complete stupidity from Rocky Bushiri but for me, that doesn’t mean that he has to be penalised and punished for it.
“I don’t thnk there’s enough in it. I think he rests his hands on Colak’s hips, which there’s no need to.
“I just don’t think that was a penalty.
“Colak went down very, very easily but he gives Willie Collum a decision to make and he doesn’t need to do that at all because David Marshall is dealing with it.”

Easy penalty
Collum had some shockers in Rangers’ draw at Hibs.
However, he was right to point to the spot when Colak was felled by Bushiri.
The Hibernian centre-back grabbed hold of Colak with both hands and held him back.
While Colak went down softly, that’s something that has to be done in the game nowadays as a result of poor refereeing because refs don’t give fouls anymore unless a player goes down.
As soon as they realise a player can be fouled without going to the ground then it’ll stamp out players doing what Colak did to win that penalty.
But there’s no denying that Bushiri impeded the Croatian striker and therefore, it was a spot-kick.
How can Stewart call it stupidity by Bushiri anyway and then claim that it wasn’t a penalty?
Where’s the logic in that?
