Rangers must not let Glen Kamara leave after the departure of Joe Aribo and Calvin Bassey
Rangers midfielder Glen Kamara has been attracting interest from Turkish club Galatasaray this summer, according to 90min.
The Finland international’s future remains in doubt as he has been linked with a number of clubs in the ongoing transfer window.
The Turkish Giants are not the first club to show interest in the star midfielder as he has already been linked with Premier League side Brighton & Hove Albion who have lost Yves Bissouma to Tottenham Hotspur.
As per the report, Galatasaray have reportedly offered £8million for the signature of the 26-year-old who has three years left on his deal at the Ibrox Stadium.
Kamara formed a fantastic partnership with Aribo in the middle of the park after the injury to Ianis Hagi.
The Gers became much more solid in the middle of the park thanks to this pivot and stopped leaking goals.
In the Europa League final, the 26-year-old started in the midfield without Aribo as the Nigeria international was playing as a makeshift central defender but even then put in a great performance as Rangers suffered a defeat on penalties.
In the 2021-22 season with the Gers, Kamara made 42 appearances across all competitions where he managed to score four goals and provided five assists.
The midfielder averaged 1.1 tackles, 0.8 interceptions, 0.6 clearances per, 1.3 key passes and had a pass completion rate of 90.8% [Whoscored].
After already having lost Aribo and with Calvin Bassey almost certain to leave the club, letting a player like Kamara will be a serious blow to the Rangers’ hopes for the next season and therefore, the club’s top-tier management must do all in their power to keep the player at Ibrox Stadium, at least for another season.
