Rabbi Matondo expected in Glasgow imminently to complete Rangers medical ahead of move

Schalke winger Rabbi Matondo is now due in Glasgow imminently to complete his Rangers medical ahead of a move to Ibrox, according to the Daily Record.

The newspaper has reported in their print edition [12 July, back page & pg. 47] that Giovanni van Bronckhorst was wrapping up a move for the Welshman late last night.

It is shared that the Bears will pay up to £2.5million for Matondo, with a deal now all but done for the former Manchester City talent.

The back page shared the news that Van Bronckhorst was wrapping up a deal late last night, as he really puts his foot down to strengthen his side.

Ross Wilson has been on overdrive while the squad is in the Algrave, with Antonio Colak and Tom Lawrence already being confirmed alongside the previous arrival of John Souttar.

£2.5million can be seen as a real bargain for Matondo, who left Manchester City to join Schalke for more than quadruple that at £11million.

Get it done.

With Van Bronckhorst in a position where he can push for it to be wrapped up, it is very likely that is the case already and we could see the announcement very soon.

Of course, Matondo may arrive for his medical on Tuesday [12 July], with the flight from Germany a short one in comparison to some as he jets into Glasgow.

Once that is done, we could see the deal formally announced and Wilson, alongside Gio can move on to even more transfers with a central playmaker wanted.

This one has been bubbling for days now, and after Lawrence was completed very quickly, that appears to be the order of play for all of our attempted new signings.

Matondo will bring raw speed and skill to Ibrox, and offer something that only Ryan Kent can compete with, something that will no doubt bring defenders nightmares.

This one is very close.

In other Rangers news, the Bears are set to have funds released for major new transfer activity with one exit now done
