Key details need rubber-stamped as Rangers close in on Rabbi Matondo

Rangers are close to signing Rabbi Matondo with The Daily Record reporting on 10 July that only “key details that need rubber-stamped” are left to complete the deal.

The Scottish newspaper reported that the player is closing in on a transfer and the next 48 hours could pave the way for his switch to Ibrox from Schalke.

He has previously been on loan at Stoke City and Cercle Brugge in recent seasons, and only “minor details” are left to be rubber-stamped for the deal to go through.

The report that the young talent is likely to be Giovanni van Bronckhorst’s third major signing of the summer after the captures of Antonio Colak and Tom Lawrence.

Good signing

Patrick Berger, a journalist working for Sport1 claimed that Matondo will not be in the rest of the squad as they prepare for the tour in Austria.

The same journalist reported on 9 July that a fee has been agreed between Rangers and Schalke worth £2.5million.

It seems like the deal is really close, and the player is expected to join shortly.

It has been to be considered that as of now, personal terms are yet to be agreed which means the agent probably is trying to get the best deal possible.

The Gers have moved quickly to bolster their attacking ranks, and they’re on the verge of adding a winger to their ranks. He is not a like-for-like replacement for Joe Aribo who moved to Southampton.

Based on multiple reports, it seems like negotiations are ongoing at the moment, but really it shouldn’t be a problem for Rangers to reach an agreement with both the club and the player.

In other Rangers news, the Gers have missed out on one of their main targets despite tabling multiple bids for him.
