Rangers to reinvest Joe Aribo money in several positions
Rangers are set to receive £10m for Joe Aribo and they will be looking to reinvest the money into several positions in the squad, according to The Athletic’s Jordan Campbell.
Nigeria international Aribo looks set to join Premier League side Southampton on a four-year deal, with the Saints prepared to pay his £10m release clause according to David Ornstein [July 5].
And according to Jordan Campbell, the club should now be able to reinvest in several positions in their squad this summer as Giovanni van Bronckhorst looks to strengthen ahead of the new season.
It would have been nice for Rangers to be able to make major signings this summer without having to sell a top star, but unfortunately that seems to have been impossible.
Fans knew it was always a possibility considering all of Aribo, Alfredo Morelos and Ryan Kent entered their final 12 months of their contract.
But after an incredible run to the Europa League final as well as winning the Scottish Cup and taking Celtic all the way in the title race, there was hope they could all be convinced to stay put and be part of the squad in the 2022/23 season.
Instead though, they will now look to strengthen several areas of the squad with the cash and if they reinvest the money well then it could turn out to be really good business rather than losing him for free next summer.
The window looks set to finally kick off for the Bears.
