Joe Aribo in London as Rangers exit set to progress very quickly
Rangers star Joe Aribo is currently in London as his Ibrox exit gathers pace very quickly, according to The Fourth Official.
The reliable source have followed on from David Ornstein who shared that Southampton are now in talks over a deal with the Nigerian keen to make the switch.
It is shared that Crystal Palace are also in the mix, with the mega exit set to be resolved very quickly while the rest of the squad are in the Algarve.
Writing on their official Patreon page on Tuesday evening [05 July], the Fourth Official shared the news that the Nigerian is clearly on his way out of Ibrox.
“Two reliable sources have confirmed to me that one club other than Southampton who are in negotiations with Rangers are Crystal Palace,” he wrote.
“The player is currently in London. Expect this to be resolved soon.”
The first of many?
Aribo is on a list of players heading into their final years at Ibrox.
That means crunch time is here whether or not to take the risk of keeping them around and trying to negotiate a new deal, or take the money and run now.
Ryan Kent and Alfredo Morelos are the two other big names in the same boat.
Giovanni van Bronckhorst is no fool though, he will have known that his squad may not be the same once he returns from the Algarve, and leaving the likes of Aribo at home will have been a tough decision.
Now it is about getting at least the £10million that is the release clause in his contract, and with two clubs gunning for his signature, that shouldn’t be a problem.
That should then unleash Ross Wilson in the market.
This isn’t what we wanted, but we all have to take our hats off to Aribo, he has given us great memories.
