Rangers official media partner reacts to Sky Sports update on Antonio Colak

David Edgar has shared his reaction on Twitter after Sky Sports have reported on 29 June that Rangers agreed a fee for PAOK striker Antonio Colak.

According to a report from Sky Sports (29 June), the Gers have agreed a fee of around £1.8m with PAOK for the striker but the Greek club are contemplating whether to allow the player to join Ibrox.

The Heart & Hand founder and official media partner of the club wrote on Twitter on 29 June that the fee quoted is basically the price for Cedric Itten who left the club to join BSC Young Boys in his native Switzerland.

Confusion

The Bears are looking to add depth in their forward line, and are keen to add Colak. The player is equally keen on a move to Glasgow.

The 28-year-old, who spent the first half of last season on loan at Malmo, scored twice against Rangers last summer to knock them out of the Champions League.

He scored 19 goals for Jon Dahl Tomasson’s side but struggled for game time at PAOK.

The Croatian international appears to have also agreed to personal terms and it seems the Gers are close to securing their second major signing of the summer.

Edgar has suggested that basically the Gers are spending the money they received for Itten.

Alfredo Morelos is facing an uncertain future at the club as he has only a year left on his present deal.

Rangers still need to add a striker to their ranks, irrespective of what the future holds for the Colombian, who missed the end of last season through injury.

In other Rangers news, the Light Blues have seen a second bid for this striker rejected as his club stand firm on their initial asking price.
