Rangers midfielder Ben Williamson wanted by Partick Thistle on loan
Rangers young midfielder Ben Williamson is wanted by Scottish Championship side Partick Thistle, according to The Daily Record.
The Scottish newspaper wrote on their transfer live blog on 26 June (14:10 pm) that the midfielder is being targeted by Ian McCall.
The youngster, who enjoyed a loan spell last season at Arbroath, is likely to be shipped out as the Ibrox club wants him to get more first-team exposure.
The 20-year-old is at the stage of his career where he needs regular games for his development.
He spent the second half of last season on loan with Championship rivals Raith Rovers, and now it’s time for him to move out on loan again and get a complete season under his belt.
He has also played for Livingston on loan, but Rangers really should be looking to send him to a club where his development will be guaranteed.
Right now, it’s really difficult for him to get into the senior squad.
The Gers boss has continued to develop young talents, but Williamson is probably not yet ready for senior actions at the moment. A loan move to Championship will suit him.
Rangers have made a slow start to the summer transfer window, with John Souttar being their only recruitment so far, and that transfer was agreed back in January.
The Bears need to move quickly and get some deals done, although they have done well in getting contracts sorted for some of the key players.
