Rangers set for profit on Joe Aribo, sale would bring in eight-figures

Rangers could be set to make a major profit on Joe Aribo with Premier League clubs circling, according to the Fourth Official.

The reliable source have reported that bids under eight figures would not see the Nigerian international leave Ibrox, where he arrived for only £300,000 from Charlton.

Premier League clubs including the likes of Crystal Palace are said to be queuing up to take him back south of the border before the 2022-23 season starts.

Writing on their official Twitter account on Thursday evening [23 June], the Fourth Official shared what it may take to get the Nigerian out of Ibrox.

“Several Premier League clubs are interested in Joe Aribo (as was always the case), so definitely don’t expect the Nigerian to leave for less than eight figures,” they wrote.

“Rangers will make a decent profit for someone in the last year of his contract.”

Huge.

No one could say no to eight figures being dragged in for Aribo this summer.

The Nigerian is in a similar position to Alfredo Morelos where they are both entering the final year of their contract at Ibrox, and questions are starting to be asked.

Do the Bears and Ross Wilson risk losing both on a free if they cannot agree to a new contract throughout this year or do they look to sell and bring in some big money now.

That way they could reinvest it into the squad and look to mould together a side that Giovanni van Bronckhorst would be happy with using every week.

Rangers could be in real trouble if they let this drag on too much, and if the likes of Aribo are going to be moved on, it is better if it is done sooner rather than later.

That then gives us a month to bring in fresh faces and integrate them into the squad before the season gets going again.
