Giovanni van Bronckhorst makes personal pitch to help Rangers sign Zak Lovelace

Giovanni van Bronckhorst made a personal pitch to help Rangers seal the signing of Millwall sensation Zak Lovelace, according to the Fourth Official.

The reliable source has reported that the 16-year-old will join on the 1st of July, with the Bears beating off numerous clubs for his signature including Leicester City.

Van Bronckhorst is said to see a clear path to the first-team for Lovelace, and that is said to have made all of the difference for the teenage wonder.

Writing on their official Patreon page on Thursday afternoon [23 June], the Fourth Official shared just how the Bears won the race for the signature.

“The 16-year-old Millwall striker was in real demand with even Premier League clubs like Leicester City really interested,” they wrote.

“A couple of sources confirmed to me that Giovanni van Bronckhorst was involved in making the pitch to the teenager. The fact that Gio sees a path to the first team soon could have potentially made all the difference in a transfer where so many clubs were after Lovelace’s signature.”

Got it done.

There aren’t many better in the game than Ross Wilson at getting deals over the line, but now it looks as though he has another weapon at his disposal.

Van Bronckhorst looks to have got this one over the line with the personal pitch, and this will be something that can be used regularly as Rangers look to secure bargains such as this one.

The Dutchman having legends in his backroom staff such as Roy Makaay will have helped too, with young wonders such as Lovelace having the chance to work alongside some of the best to have ever graced the field.

Rangers reaching the Europa League final opened many doors, and now Ibrox is seen as somewhere you can progress further and easier than established Premier League clubs such as Leicester.

This one should be confirmed and announced next week, and hopefully, some big-name first-team signings can be made alongside it sooner rather than later.

Bring it on.

In other Rangers news, scouts at Ibrox are said to have watched this ‘immense’ powerhouse numerous times ahead of a potential major transfer
