Rangers to ramp up transfer business as bid reportedly tabled for Croatia striker Antonio Colak
Rangers fans should expect to see the club ramp up their transfer business amid speculation linking them with Croatia striker Antonio Colak, according to The 4th Official.
Sport Time journalist Giannis Chorianopoulos reported on Twitter on 21 June that PAOK have rejected a bid from Rangers for the 28-year-old centre-forward.
Now, The 4th Official, a reliable source of news from Ibrox, reports on their Patreon (21 June) that there is “real” interest in Colak but it’s unclear whether or not a bid has been made.
The 4th Official adds that with the Light Blues keen on signing Colak, “we should expect the pace of business to pick up now”.
Hotting up
It’s been rather quiet at Ibrox since the 2021/22 season ended with a Scottish Cup victory.
John Souttar has formalised his move from Hearts but that was pre-agreed back in January while Cedric Itten is the only first-team player to have been sold.
Leon Balogun has moved on with his contract expiring but there have been new deals for Allan McGregor, Connor Goldson and Steven Davis.
Unfortunately, we’re yet to see any progress on the deals that matter.

Alfredo Morelos, Joe Aribo, Ryan Kent and Ryan Jack will all be out of contract this time next year unless something is done about it by Rangers’ top-brass.
It’s nice to see the golden oldies in McGregor and Davis staying on for another year. But seriously, are they the ones who the club should be busting a gut to keep right now?
Unless those four players are signed up to new deals, they’ll need to be sold because we cannot risk losing Europa League final goalscorer Aribo, goal machine Morelos, midfield lynchpin Jack and one of the best Scottish Premiership wingers in Kent on free transfers.
Colak has a good record.

He spent 2021 on loan at Malmo, where he scored 19 times in 40 appearances across all competitions with two of them coming against Rangers at Ibrox to knock us out of the Champions League qualifiers in August 2021.
His return at PAOK is poor but he did scored in each of their two games against AEK Athens after his loan spell in Sweden ended and that derby match is one of the most heated in European football.
If we do sign him, we hope he’s able to continue that goalscoring form in derby matches when the Old Firm comes around.
In other Rangers news, “it’s true” that the Gers have made an approach to seal a major free agent signing.
