Rangers will still profit from SPFL cinch deal after ‘overwhelming’ support

Rangers are still set to receive any sponsorship and prize money from the SPFL’s sponsors cinch despite being allowed not to show their logo, according to Glasgow World.

The Light Blues spent the entirety of the 2021-22 campaign without the car firm’s branding anywhere within Ibrox or n the club’s shirts while the rest of the Premiership did show it off.

The SPFL have now admitted that the Bears were in the right all along with their stance as chairman Douglas Park has his own car firm that competes with cinch.

A new settlement has finally been agreed between all 12 Premiership clubs, the company and the SPFL who insists they won’t prevent Rangers from getting any prize and sponsorship money they are due after “overwhelming” support from our rivals.

SPFL chief executive Neil Doncaster negotiated the tricky deal and it will also see the cash awarded to the other 11 top-flight sides go vastly unchanged.

Finally

After all that, we are going to get the same slice of the pie we should have been getting from the off and this whole debacle can be put behind us for good.

It has caused so much unnecessary drama already, most notably when Giovanni van Bronckhorst conducted his post-match interviews away at Motherwell in front of taped-over cinch logos in the Fir Park media room.

You have to wonder why what seemed like such a simple case has taken so long to come to a resolution and maybe the SPFL need to take a closer look at their operations to prevent such a wait in the future.

Thankfully, we no longer have to worry about it and the big-wigs at Ibrox can fully focus on other financial aspects of the club, including what transfer budget van Bronckhorst has to spend now this money is due to come in.

He needs plenty to work with if he fancies turning the tables back in our favour in the Premiership and putting Celtic back where they belong.

In other Rangers news, despite this player wanting to come and play for the Bears at Ibrox, van Bronckhorst doesn’t have him high on his transfer priority list.
