Hapoel Be’er Sheva eye loan move for Rangers winger Josh McPake

Hapoel Be’er Sheva are reportedly eyeing a loan move for Rangers winger Josh McPake with a potential option to buy.

According to Football Scotland, the 20-year-old could be set for a sensational summer move to the Israeli side.

He is set to be back at Ibrox for the pre-season campaign but Giovanni van Bronckhorst could decide to let him leave on loan before this window shuts.

Loan him out

McPake made his Gers debut in 2019 and the expectation was that he would kick on and become a part of the first team.

However, he failed to impress the coaches and spent the next few seasons out on loan at different clubs where he failed to set the world alight.

Last season, the number of appearances he made considerably came down due to it being an injury-ravaged set of months for him.

He has been working doubly hard to stay fit this time and that may catch van Bronckhorst’s eye, at least when it comes to training.

On the pitch, it’s a different story altogether and he may just not have what it takes to become a first-team player at Ibrox.

His performances in pre season will be a good indicator as to how much he’s progressed since he last stepped onto the pitch as a senior Gers player.

Hopefully, he still finds levels to his game that we all know he’s capable of reaching.

In other Rangers news, the club are ‘not convinced’ by a key first-team player and an early termination of his contract is extremely likely.
