Trabzonspor wait for reply after offer made for Rangers left-back Borna Barisic

Turkish club Trabzonspor are waiting for the “next reply” after they made an offer for Rangers left-back Borna Barisic, as reported by Fanatik [11 June].

The Scotsman on 11 June reported that as many as three Turkish clubs are vying for the signature of the 29-year-old, but only Trabzonspor seem to have made an offer.

The Gers “have taken action” for the Croatian left-back, who still has got two years left on his current deal.

Likely to leave

The Atheltic journalist, Jordan Campbell wrote on his personal Twitter account on June 10 that Barisic could leave the club in the summer.

The left-back himself has admitted that he could consider his future if there’s a good offer on the table [RTL, 9 June].

Barisic struggled under Giovanni van Bronckhorst initially and was dreadful in the 3-0 defeat against Celtic in the Scottish Premiership clash in February.

However, he returned strongly towards the end and was superb in the Europa League later stages for the Gers.

There are even suggestions that Barisic’s future largely hinges on what Rangers plan to do with Calvin Bassey.

The 22-year-old was outstanding last season, and he is likely to be tracked by a host of Premier League clubs.

If Rangers are left with no option but to sell Bassey at some point, they may not be willing to lose Barisic in the same transfer window.

In other Rangers news, a Sky journalist has predicted a big-name player to be done at Rangers after his Instagram post.
