Borna Barisic could leave Rangers if the right bid comes in
Rangers defender Borna Barisic could leave Ibrox in the summer if the right bid comes in, according to The Atheltic journalist, Jordan Campbell.
The Croatian defender is attracting interest from several Turkish clubs, according to a report from The Scotsman [11 June].
Trabzonspor have shown strong interest in the left-back [Football Scotland], but there are also two unknown clubs that are vying for his signature as well.
Cambell wrote on Twitter: “European teams interested in Borna Barisic, including Trabzonspor, which Turkish media have reported. The 29yo Croatian int still has two years on his deal. Big wages will be on offer but Rangers will demand a substantial fee if he is to leave. No club-to-club contact so far.
“This is not to say that Barisic will definitely leave this summer. It’s a possibility if the right bid comes in and it’s the right challenge for him but that’s probably unlikely to be Turkey right now.”
Interesting
As it stands, Rangers will demand a substantial fee for the left-back.
Barisic has recently stated that he is happy at Ibrox but at the same time, he could be open to leaving if there’s a good offer on the table [RTL, 9 June].
He could also look to embrace new challenges, and therefore a potential exit cannot be ruled out.
Barisic has two-year left on his current deal, and Rangers are in no hurry to sell him.

To be honest, any potential exit for Barisic will largely depend on the future of Calvin Bassey.
The 22-year-old established himself as a top-quality defender last season, and his performance hasn’t gone unnoticed.
If he leaves the club in the summer, the Gers probably won’t sell Barisic.
The Croatoan struggled last season to make an impact. He was dreadful in the 3-0 defeat against Celtic in February.
However, he came back strongly towards the end of the season, and played a crucial role in the memorable Europa League campaign.
In other Rangers news, the Gers want to raid this billionaire-owned club to sign a new left-back who could be Bassey’s replacement.
