Rangers make very smart financial move to partner with Hong Kong club
Rangers announced on Friday 10 June that they have agreed a partnership with the Hong Kong Rangers who play in the Chinese leagues.
The announcement came on the club’s official website and the plan will be for the Light Blues to offer support and assistance to the staff and players at the club.
In return, the Bears will get a much more prominent presence in the Chinese football scene which is one of the most wealthy in Asia.

“This is another exciting announcement as we continue to drive Rangers International Soccer Academy in different parts of the globe. Head of Soccer Academies and International Relations at Rangers, Gary Gibson, said.
“Creating a strong relationship with Hong Kong Rangers will give us further exposure in the region, and that will see Rangers coaching staff travelling across to deliver camps and coach education events, build strong relationships with schools and welcome groups across to Glasgow for football, educational and cultural events.”
We might not see a wonderkid emerge from Hong Kong and then go on to play for Rangers at Ibrox but this partnership is more on the financial side than the footballing side.
To compete with some of Europe’s biggest clubs and leagues, we need to find new ways to generate income n any way shape or form and this deal could be the start of a flourishing dynasty for us.

Giovanni van Bronckhorst could certainly do with the extra transfer budget as he looks to build a side capable of reclaiming the Scottish Premiership title from Celtic at the first time of asking.
We could also see pre-season tours and friendlies to Asia coming in the future and if we give it time, we could be rolling in cash while the rest of our rivals search down the back of the sofa for that final pound coin.
In other Rangers news, van Bronckhorst might be calling up his predecessor Steven Gerrard to sign one of his Aston Villa players this transfer window.
