Rangers interest in Aston Villa striker Cameron Archer could indicate Ibrox exits are imminent
Rangers are reportedly interested in Aston Villa’s highly-rated young striker Cameron Archer – and that could indicate some high-profile Ibrox departures are imminent.
As reported by talkSPORT’s Alex Crook on his personal Twitter account, Rangers = along with Watford and Middlesbrough – are interested in the 20-year-old forward.
However, their interest in Archer could indicate that the Gers are readying themselves for some high-profile Ibrox departures.
Joe Aribo, Ryan Kent and Alfredo Morelos are all entering the final year of their contracts and it would not be a shock to see at least one of them depart Ibrox this summer.
As reported by The Athletic on 8 June, Crystal Palace are interested in bringing Aribo to Selhurst Park and Kent is attracting interest from Leeds United, as per 90min [6 May].
Giovanni van Bronckhorst is aware of the damage a potential departure could do to his attacking options and may well be preempting a potential departure with his reported interest in Archer.

Archer would be an excellent young signing for Rangers with the Aston Villa youngster thriving on loan at Preston in the second half of last season scoring seven goals for the Deepdale side.
He would provide the Rangers boss with a lethal option upfront with the striker boasting an excellent finishing ability, particularly in the box with low and accurate shots.
Rangers fans will be praying that the links to the youngster are not a sign of a potential departure at Ibrox.
However, there has to be an acceptance amongst Gers fans that one of Aribo, Kent and Morelos may not be at the club come the start of the 2022/23 season.
In other Rangers news, contrary to previous reports, this Light Blues icon is yet to open talks with the club over a new deal and he won’t want to take the incentive they are offering either.
